Project Planner

About the Job
PC Group is seeking a Project Planner to take charge of developing, maintaining, and tracking the master project schedule. This role plays a key part in ensuring project success through close coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop baseline and detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource histograms, and S-curves.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of schedule changes, forecasts, and critical path analysis.
  • Monitor project work progress and update schedules weekly.
  • Generate weekly/monthly progress reports and dashboards (Excel/PMS).
  • Highlight variances, delays, and provide recovery plans where needed.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, engineering/construction team, client, and subcontractors for schedule coordination.
  • Attend progress meetings with clients and prepare presentation materials.
  • Provide early warnings for potential slippage, recommend mitigation measures, and a recovery plan.
  • Coordinate planning inputs across civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation scopes.
  • Track procurement and engineering deliverables to align with construction sequences.
  • Conduct a delay analysis with senior team members for the extension of the time claim.
  • Support tender schedule preparation when required.
  • Manage PMS (Project Measurement System) for progress tracking.
  • Support contract administration.

Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, and/ or Professional Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project planning using Primavera P6.
  • Experience in construction/EPCC projects (electrical, instrumentation & control, mechanical, steel, or infrastructure).
  • Familiar with Project Measurement Systems (PMS), S-curves, and resource planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and reporting skills in English and Malay.
  • Possess valid CIDB Green Card, OGSP, and Confined Space (preferred).
  • Experience with Data Center/Water Treatment Projects are advantageous.
  • Willing to be stationed at the project site as required. (Klang Valley)
